It’s been a long week, but a good one, so far. Monday was a fairly normal day of lectures, finishing as usual with my logic-tutor-writing class. That’s always a good class – it’s small, there’s a good dynamic, we all get along well & have fun. Yes, yes, I’m aware of the North Atlantic Drift, and if I could give it a hug right now, I would. I can’t see the highrise beside me at the moment, it’s snowing so hard. And yet, [...] So, yesterday I was offered commit access to the Apache httpd project documentation repositories! What that means for all of you who’ve never heard of Apache, httpd or documentation repositories is the following Pretty much since I finished up in Microsoft, I’ve been working on the documentation for a piece of software called Apache. [...] So, went to the cardiologist, and after lots of non-invasive tests, he went with my favourite suggestion – “Keep it til it goes away”. I like him I look a bit like one of those celebs after a cupping session – the ECG leads were suction things, so I have ten little bruises surrounded [...] So, that’s the second time in a week that a totally random stranger has come up to me in college, and asked me about the iBook. It really is weird Let me start this with a confession. I’m a horrific patient. I don’t like going to doctors. I can put up with it, for a few minutes, for a very brief “yep, I’m fine thanks”, and as long as it takes to write a prescription. I don’t mind having my blood pressure taken, my eyes [...] So, last weekend, Colm came to visit again Yeah, yeah, I’m spoilt – but he’s great. He arrived, bearing gifts of Superquinn sausages, M&S mince pies, and a *brilliant* etymology book – just PERFECT for me I had a present for him too, of a silver tie with various mathematical/scientific formulae [...] |
